Frequently Asked Questions

Can I Pick Up Bread At The Bakery?

Yes, absolutely! We’re offering curbside pickup at our bakery office:

Mähler’s Bakery
4123 Avenida de la Plata, Suite B
Oceanside, CA 92056

We recommend you call ahead, so we can have your order ready for you when you arrive (800) 333-2768. Our hours are 10 AM – 2 PM Monday-Friday.

Can Bread Be Frozen?

Yes, absolutely! It’s easy and fast and will save you a ton of money in the long run. Bags of Mahler’s Bread can go right into the freezer.

  • Remove as much air as possible from the freezer bag.
  • Seal the bag with the air removed.
  • Write the date on your bag with a magic marker

A Secret our Grandmother taught us. Put bread in the refrigerator to cool to around 40 degrees. Then, put it into the freezer. You’ll minimize the amount of moisture that leaves the bread and clings to the plastic.

Why Is Shipping So Expensive?

Shipping rates are expensive these days and the rates you see are exactly what UPS and USPS charge us. We do not make any profit on the shipping rates we charge. We recommend you stock up and freeze your favorite loaves of bread to save on shipping.

Using USPS is a great way to save.  It’s cheaper than UPS and USPS priority takes 2-3 days to arrive once it leaves the bakery.

Can I buy bread at your facility? Do you have a storefront?

Yes, you can! Please come by our office during normal business hours. Please note: the bakery is off-limits for safety reasons.

What’s your return policy?

Once an order ships from our bakery it is a final sale because our products are perishable and cannot be reused or resold.

In the unlikely event that an order gets damaged or spoiled during shipping, please send a picture of the damage to on arrival day and we will try our best to make it right. Our shipping policy applies, and we are not responsible for errors outside our control. We love our bread and believe you will too! If you have any concerns, we’re always happy to help.
